Another restaurant on our NYC must-try restaurant list for was Gramercy Tavern. We had heard so many great things about it that we knew we needed to try it! So after a hard day at Broadway and watching the amazing Newsies team we headed there for dinner. We have to admit, and sadly so, very underwhelmed. The food was delicious but nothing to shout from the rooftops and the service left a lot to be desired.
Don’t want to dwell too much on a negative review but really, for the cost, there are better restaurants with the same or better food and much better service!
To be fair I think it is important to note the hostess and bartender were quite nice but our server made us feel unwelcome and and second guessing our choice. She did not make us feel like she was happy we were there or that we were worth her time. Just to note not only did we order the prim fixe menu but we also ordered a bottle of wine and multiple desserts and after dinner drinks so it wasn’t like we were trying to be cheapskates here (but even if we were who is she to judge?!).
And enough with the negative - end on a positive right?? They gave us amazingly delicious coffee cake muffins as a take home treat!! They were lovely for the plane ride! Enjoy the pictures of our delicious meal!
